Description
8" (20 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass eyes, painted facial features, slightly open mouth, teeth, blonde mohair wig, five piece composition body with painted shoes and socks. Condition: old hairline extends around throat. Marks: Globe Baby Dep CH 10/0 Germany. Comments: Carl Hartmann, circa 1910, the doll wears her wonderful antique red woolen dress and matching cap (both factory original),undergarments, and carries applique felt purse. The actual doll was featured in an article in German Doll Studies by Cieslik, (p.82) with the note "the doll factory of Carl Hartmann in Neustadt near Coburg was well known for its range of splendidly dressed 5-piece bodied dolls...clothing and accessories were the seller".
