Description

3.5" (9 cm.) 3.5" figures, 5" including weights. Each is intricately carved of fine wood and/or bone with rich detail of facial features, costumes, and accessories that enhance the activity they represent, each with one foot poised for balancing, and each with lead counterweights for balancing. Included are the flower seller with basket of flowers in hand and another basket at her back, the female violinist with elaborate coiffe and violin, and the Marquis with elaborate hat. Condition: two women excellent, man missing right hand. Comments: probably French, 18th century.
