22" (56 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted facial features, closed mouth with tiny tongue tip, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, cork pate, original kid gusset-jointed body, kid-over-wooden upper arms, bisque forearms, the doll is dressed in antique purple silk double-breasted coat dress, undergarments, matching bonnet, stockings, and shoes. Condition: generally excellent, except bisque hands are not original (appropriately sized but likely Kestner). Marks: Bru Jne 8 (head and shoulder plate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1882, the beautiful early model has especially clean and sturdy body with original Bru paper label.
