15" (38 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of man posed reclining, with sculpted cropped black hair with forehead bangs and wide tufts over each ear, eyes modeled costumed, closed mouth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, black stockings and tan work shoes, costumed as shepherd, and with wooden stump and feed sack props. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, early 1700s, very rare model offered a realistic element to the classic shepherd nativity scene.
