Two Cast Iron Mechanical Elephant Banks

7.5" (19 cm.) Each is cast iron elephant with tusks, and trunk designed to hold a coin at the tip. When tail is lifted (brown elephant) or pushed (grey elephant) the trunk lifts and feeds the coin into the slit at elephant's crown. Included is a brown elephant with red circus blanket having three embossed stars, and grey elephant with painted red riding platform and blanket. Both very good to excellent condition. Late 19th century.
