Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, blonde mohair wig, composition ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, original wig, body and body finish in near pristine condition. Marks: Germany HH S&H 2/0. Comments: Heinrich Handwerck, circa 1912. The doll, with beautiful dewy patina of bisque, in appealing cabinet size, wears her original red and blue flannel sailor costume with sailor cap bearing the name "Maagen" in gilt letters. "Maagen" featured prominently in the sea history of Denmark, its most romantic appearance as the name of the 18th century Danish Royal Yacht.
