13à (33 cm.) A thick wooden box-shaped room has a slanted ceiling with glass top and two back wall windows to allow natural light, hinged double doors that appear as curtained windows when closed, and form a larger wing when opened. The exterior of the room is paint-grained and stencil-outlined to appear as an exotic wood, and there is a fancy scrolled decoration at the crest. The interior has original painting with trompe l'oeil wainscot, blue painted walls, and fancily painted floor to simulate a tapestry carpet. The house is furnished with a lovely Biedermeier davenport slant front desk, small table with drop leaf sides, three Biedermeier chairs, settee and a corner etagere. Decorations include an ormolu birdcage with bird, ormolu wall sconces, tin pedestal table, hanging clock, and pictures. There are three dollhouse dolls including early bisque doll with brown sculpted hair and original costume. Circa 1860, a rare style of miniature room with original finish well preserved.
