30"h. x 27"w. x 27"d. A large wooden house of square proportions features a low roof with painted green shingles and a single chimney with eight stacks. The house is stained a rich dark brown and has well-defined quoining at each corner, and architectural window frames with wide sills, and windows that hinge open at the center and are topped by a rectangular glass window for extra light. One side features three large windows and a large reception door with carved panels below a painted faux-leaded window that is flanked by five smaller faux-leaded windows. Another side features four windows and a richly paneled door with brass lion's head door-knocker. The third side features four windows, and the rear of the house is solid excepting one single plain door that opens to a single room. The interior, only accessed by the windows and doors which may account for its remarkable originality, is fitted with exquisite early wallpaper throughout, and a full-length fireplace and mantel in the front hall. The house is unfurnished excepting the fireplace, and an early German engraving with cutwork and applied decoration, in original pressed gilt frame with German description describing a cheerful life. Excellent original condition. Probably English, circa 1840.
