Bisque socket head with brown complexion, brown glass sleep eyes, black brushstroked brows with feathered detail, black painted brows, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, black fleecy hair, black mohair moustache, composition and wooden fully-jointed body, antique silk Turkish costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: AM 1894 dep Germany 2 1/2. Comments: Germany, circa 1895, an attached note reads "original costume...Childhood soldier toy of Charles Leonard Schmal, circa 1907, of North LaSalle Street, Chicago".
