Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, kid poupee body with square-cut collarette, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, very sturdy original body with darkening of fingers. Marks: D (head and shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, from Bru's depose registered that year. Value Points: very fine bisque and with sought-after enigmatic smile.
