Each has hickory nut head with painted black complexion and simplistic painted facial features, cloth torso, wrapped armature body, wooden flat-soled feet, and each is wearing original costume. Condition: very good, some costume fading. Marks: The Southern Shop 8331 Germantown Avenue Chestnut Hill Penna (sticker on boy's foot). Loveleigh Novelties Grantsville, Ga (partial label on man's foot). Comments: American folk dolls, early 1900s, created imaginatively from found materials such as acorns and fabric scraps, here presented as characters from Gone with the Wind and others; paper ink notes attached to three identify them as Prissy, Little Lulu and Uncle Peter. Value Points: delightful collection of folk art dolls in original costumes.
