Description
5" (13 cm.) The all-wooden doll has painted-over-gesso complexion, facial features and hair, elongated throat, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted white stockings and orange flat shoes, and is wearing a (frail) early muslin dress and matching cap. The doll is preserved inside her tapestry covered wooden sedan chair with glass windows and original carrying sticks. Condition: original finish with some wear on face. Comments: circa 1840, a captivating and rare small size of both doll and her carriage.
