The simple wooden cottage or caretaker's home is of thick wood with original ochre painted finish, having sloped green painted roof, double chimneys, center room dormer with two arched windows (one glass missing) and a railing for plants. The sides are solid wood, but the front features two faux-four-paned windows with wide flower sills that flank a center painted double door with paneled and glass window front (glass missing) and two front steps. The upper frames of the windows and front door are well defined as is the base of the roof. The house is open at the back to reveal a large single attic room and two 1st floor rooms with connecting doorway and painted finish. The name "Solvang" (sunny field) appears above the door in a defined name plate. Circa 1885.
