All wooden hand-carved doll with painted black short black hair having incised combmarked detail, carved facial features with shaded coloring including heavily lidded eyes, strong nose, impressed cheeks dimples, all-wooden body with dowel-jointing at throat, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: native Alaskan, early 20th century. Value Points: compelling portrait figure with complex dowel-jointing, wearing original kidskin and fur hooded jacket and trousers, leather moccasins, and carrying a finely made wooden spear with bone handle.
