The trio includes a young mother with two children including 8" young boy and 7" baby, each with carved wooden head and painted hair and facial features, firmly stuffed cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent, the mother's costume a bit faded. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope missionary ship, circa 1920, the mother has carved chignon at back of head with fitted black cap, and wears lavender cotton tunic and pants. She supports a baby on her back with a richly embroidered silk knapsack that ties at her front torso; the baby wears a cotton dress with fancy collar and richly decorated silk cap. The boy wears silk tunic and trousers and has painted black hair with red painted design at each side of head along with long queue.
