12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head with lightly tinted facial features, firmly stuffed cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Wooden Door of Hope missionary ship, circa 1920, the man wears an unusual costume of crudely woven homespun gown over leggings and homespun slippers, under a woven rattan tunic; on his head is a woven fitted cap with braided woven borders from which cascade three pom-pom balls that cover his eyes.
