11" (28 cm.) Each has carved wooden head with carved and lightly tinted facial features and hair, firmly stuffed cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope missionary ship, circa 1920. The bride has sculpted black coiled chignon decorated with richly painted red and gilded decorations, and wears an embroidered red silk tunic, skirt, slippers, and elaborate head dress with rich beading and pom-pom; the groom has bald pate with real hair queue and wears peak silk jacket with frog closures, mauve silk skirt over leggings, black silk slippers and cap. Value Points: exquisite detail of costuming on the rare figures.
