
11" (28 cm.) The trio comprises a mother and her 9" daughter and son, each with carved wooden head having well defined and tinted features, firmly stuffed cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope missionary ship, circa 1910. The mother has carved and painted black hair with stippled detail at the forehead and rolled chignon at the back held by gold painted combs, and is wearing a rose silk blouse with embroidered detail, and black skirt over blue leggings and slippers; the daughter with painted pate and long black hair wears a blue silk tunic with knotted decorations over rose silk leggings, embroidered slippers and fancy cap; the son wears a rose silk gown over lavender and green leggings, very fancy slippers, grey vest with silver grey edging and frog closures and an embroidered cap. Value Points: rare children figures with exquisite original costumes.
