18" (46 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with unusual pate cut at back of head, blue glass enamel eyes in unusual robin's egg color, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with shaded lips, row of tiny teeth, brunette mohair wig, carton torso containing mechanism, composition arms and lower legs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1875. Value Points: an early model of the popular bebe that waves arms and legs in realistic baby fashion and cries "mama" with unusual head style, and rare eye color.
