21" (53 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with sculpted bosom and shoulderblades, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted dark curly lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with pale accented outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, plump French kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque lower arms and hands, antique velvet dress and matching bonnet, undergarments, woven stockings and (unsigned) Bru-like shoes. Condition: generally excellent, tiny dark line on front left corner of shoulderplate which may be original. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head) N0 7 Bru Jne (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the first period bebe known as "brevete" from the illustrious firm, circa 1877. Value Points: very dear gentle expression on the rare doll with finest bisque, complexion and painting, sturdy original body, perfect bisque hands.
