A heavy board box with lithographed paper cover and lithographed image on the cover depicting children fishing with village scene in the background has fitted interior with fishing game. Scenes similar to the lid are shown along with actual arched bridge, revolved water with slits cut in the water for placement of die-cut fish. When keywound, the water revolves and music plays. Each fish has number hidden upon it, and the object of the game is for each child to use the provided wooden fishing pole with magnetic lures to "catch" the fish. The winner of the game was awarded the title "Chevalier de la Gaule" (Knight of the Rod). Instructions in three languages are on the lid interior. The game was offered in two version, this being the deluxe musical mechanical version. Excellent condition. French, circa 1900.
