Comprising one complete doll, and four additional bisque heads from the series, each is a socket head with brown or blue glass inset googly eyes, painted long curly lashes, closed mouth with impish smiling expressions, painted hair peeking from beneath various sculpted helmets or hats; the complete doll with composition and wooden ball-jointed body and and wearing silk and velvet Uncle Sam costume. Condition: complete doll and two other heads are excellent, Bellhop has a tiny eye rim flake, Double face has an imperceptible hairline on the green hat. Marks: Dep Elite (and variant letters or numbers on each). Comments: Max Handwerck from a series released, circa 1917, included are Uncle Sam (marked US 1),Japanese soldier with amber complexion and blue cap (marked J 2/0), German soldier with green spike helmet (marked D1),double face model depicting Turkish soldier on one side with red fez decorated with moon and star, and private with green army cap on the other (marked T 2/0) and Bellhop. Value Points: very rare complete set of the series created for a very limited time only.
