18" (46 cm.) All-cloth doll with swivel head, firmly-pressed and oil-painted facial features, brown eyes, black upper eyeliner, fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, original red mohair bobbed wig, stitch-jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kamkins A Doll Made To Love Patented by L.E. Kampes (stamp on head and torso). Comments: Kamkins, circa 1930s, the doll was made by American designer Louise Kampes and sold in her boutique in Atlantic City. Value Points: depicting the classic American child of the 1930s, the wonderfully-preserved doll has original painted finish and wig, and is wearing original onesie undergarment with flowered cotton trim which matches her original romper dress, socks and yellow felt shoes, along with original orange felt coat and cloche with brown lambswool trim.
