Description
8" (20 cm.) Each is a one-piece all-bisque figure of seated boy or girl, casually posed, the boy leaning backward supported by his arms, knees akimbo, and the girl daintily seated with side- tilted head, hands clasping her bent knees. Each has intaglio sculpted facial features with side- glancing eyes, sculpted Dutch costumes including caps and "wooden" shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach (sunburst mark, on each) 3746 (girl). Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910. Value Points: the popular theme is enhanced by wonderfully detailed smiling expression flirtatiously glancing at each other.
