11" (28 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, lightly painted lashes and brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth, accented lips, pierced ears, original blonde lambs-wool wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body, straight wrists, antique costume included. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, the earliest period bebe. Value Points: dramatic large eyes enhance the delicate expression and pale bisque, original wig, body, body finish.
