Description
6" (15 cm.) (3" plate). An oval heavy board container with rattan cover and black canvas and leather straps opens to reveal a well-fitted interior with purple paper lining. There is a lidded tin receptacle for food storage, decanter with silver lid, goblet, French porcelain lidded tureen with blue and gold decorations, soup bowl, dinner plate, cutlery and napkin embroidered M.F. An original paper label on the base reads "Maison Giroux Brevete de L'Empereur..." Excellent condition. A rare miniature doll-sized set in original presentation with label from the most prestige Paris luxury boutique of the mid- 19th century. Circa 1860.
