11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head depicting a laughing child, painted facial features, dark blue painted eyes with laughter crinkles at the corners, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth in wide beaming smile, row of painted teeth, impressed cheek dimples, brunette mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: BP 0 Geschutz S&C Germany. Comments: Bahr and Proschild for Swaine and Company, circa 1912. Value Points: rare model with wonderfully detailed expression, wearing original well-detailed folklore costume of Eastern Europe with elaborate head dress having embroidered colorful flowers.
