Description
18" (46 cm.) Very pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, pronounced all-around black eyeliner, daintily painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, accent line between the pale lips, pierced ears, brunette human wig over cork pate, French all-wooden body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, well costumed. Condition: generally excellent, some retouch to body finish. Comments: French, circa 1875, the facial model closely resembles the early closed mouth dolls of Simon and Halbig (see #287). Value Points: very beautiful model, complexion, painting, rare original body.
