Pale pressed bisque shoulder head with plump facial modeling in posed as though gazing upward, sculpted eye sockets with modeled lids enhanced by black eyeliner, grey eye shadow, painted upper lashes, feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open with two rows of tiny modeled and painted teeth centering a tongue tip, defined chin, blushed ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing, shapely torso, stitched and separated fingers, nicely costumed, carrying small antique basket. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: mystery maker, circa 1860,the style and sculpting are suggestive of Georges Most who deposed a system for modeled teeth at this time. Value Points: extremely rare poupee whose unusual features include sculpted eye sockets, modeled eyelids, teeth, tongue, unusual portrait like character expression.
