Description

18" (46 cm). Bisque socket head with slender facial modeling and elongated strong throat, blue glass enamel inset eyes, thick black upper eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded lips, brunette mohair wig, French wooden poupee body with elongated torso and limbs, swivel waist, dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles, pewter hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Huret (head and torso). Comments: from the art series of dolls created by Eliza Prevost for Maison Huret, circa 1910. Value Points: having signed artist-model head, unique and original body style, signed Huret shoes, and wearing antique Vivandiere costume including silver "pistol" and maple wood water barrel.
