Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth in wide beaming smile with accented lips and sculpted row of teeth, dimpled cheeks, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, antique costume. Condition: faint line from inner corner of right eye to nose bridge appears to be original firing line. Marks: 203 5 (incised) Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG (and artist check marks). Comments: from the Jumeau character series, SFBJ era of production, circa 1900; the 1899 Jumeau inventory indicated that 4 examples of the 203 character, size 5, remained in inventory. Value Points: few examples of the broadly smiling character are found in this smaller size.
