Description
4" (10 cm) doll. Pressed leather swivel head with brown impasto-sculpted hair, painted blue eyes with black upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pouty expression, five piece pressed oil- painted leather body, antique baby gown. The doll is seated in metal carriage with metal spoked wheels, having Maerklin embossed insignia. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, mystery maker who created a series of these leather-headed oil painted miniature dolls, circa 1920's. Value Points: rare doll with endearing expression.
