19" (48 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted short lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, heart-shaped upper lip, dimpled chin, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French all-wooden fully-articulated body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, and extra swivel-joint at mid-thigh, beautiful antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, original body finish albeit finish a bit scuffed. Marks: L Depose 4 D. Comments: Louis Doleac, circa 1880, the Parisian dollmaker, used the trade initials L.D., and purchased his doll heads from Gaultier. Value Points: rare signed poupee with distinctive facial model found only signed L.D. poupees, all-wooden articulated body. This poupee is featured in The Encyclopedia of French Dolls.
