17" (43 cm). Bisque shoulder head with rich chocolate brown complexion, oval face and strong elongated throat, brown glass inset eyes, incised eyeliner, black painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils of upturned nose, open mouth, two rows of porcelain teeth, pierced ears, black mohair fleeced wig over cork pate, French brown-tinted kid poupee body with gusset jointing. Condition: generally excellent, very faint line at left side of forehead that is likely original. Comments: attributed to Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1877, the model is discussed in The Bru Book, pp 47-49. Value Points: very rare model with distinctive and handsome facial features, luminous rich brown complexion, original body, elaborate original costume and jewelry.
