21" (54 cm). Bisque socket head with elongated slender face portraying an older child, painted blue slightly side-glancing eyes with thick black and red upper eyeliner, one stroke slight brows, strong nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full pouty lips, sculpted ears, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R 107 54. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, from their art reform character series, the model marketed as "Karl" and sculpted by Arthur Lewin-Funcke, noted German sculptor, for the doll firm. The doll was made in only two sizes, this being the larger. Value Points: the rarity of the model is rivaled by its outstanding quality of sculpting, bisque and painting; the very handsome young man wears antique sailor costume with brass buttons and anchor, and cap lettered "Wilhelm".
