Description
19" (48 cm). Solid domed bisque socket head, fleeced hair, brown glass inset eyes, brown painted lashes, incised eyeliner, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth in smiling expression, row of modeled teeth between the shaded and outlined lips, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition; generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 227 Paris 8. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912, from that firm's 200 art character series. Value Points: excellent sculpting of dimples and laughter creases around the eyes and mouth, enhanced by fine dewy patina of bisque, factory original costume includes shirt, velvet suspendered trousers, leather shoes.
