facial shape
and flat-cut neck socket attached to matching
shoulder plate
with deposed metal rod system that allows
realistic side-to-side
head swivel only (not 360 degrees), painted cobalt
blue eyes
with black outlined and dark lashes, feathered
brows, small nose
with accented nostrils, closed mouth with pertly
shaped lips,
unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig, cork pate,
original Rohmer
kid body with "sitting ribbons" from torso, kid-over-
form knee-
jointing that allows realistic knee bending, hip
gusset jointing,
kid over wooden upper arms, pale bisque plump
arms from
above the elbows, plump cupped fingers, well
costumed in
antique silk gown, undergarments, leather shoes.
Condition:
generally excellent, professional finger restoration,
seam splits
on kid body. Marks: Mme Rohmer Brevete SGDG
Paris (body
stamp). Comments: Leontine Rohmer, circa 1860,
the doll has
three rare deposed systems of 1857 and 1858 by
that doll
maker. Value Points: rare early signed doll
enhanced by
captivating expression and artful painting.
