sculpting that
appears almost as though individually sculpted,
small blue glass
sleep eyes, lightly painted lashes, brushstroked
brows, accented
nostrils of rounded square-tipped nose, accented
nostrils,
closed mouth with defined space and suggestion
of teeth
between the shaded lips, deeply impressed
dimples at cheek
corners and chin, philtrum, well-modeled ears,
brunette curly
mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully-
jointed body,
wearing antique blue velvet boy's suit and
matching cap, black
stockings, leather shoes. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks:
Van Rozen France Depose (raised circular seal at
back of head).
Comments: created by the French sculptor known
as Van Rozen
during the era of the Renaissance of French doll
movement, circa
1915. Value Points: very rare and historically
important character
