17" (43 cm). Bisque socket head, dark blue glass sleep eyes that operate from lever at back of head, painted lashes, rose eye shadow, thickly fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over original Steiner pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie C 1 (incised, and Bourguoin red stamp). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1885. Value Points: most appealing delicate smile, lovely bisque and painting, rarer lever eyes, original Steiner body with fine original finish, beautiful antique maroon silk taffeta gown and matching bonnet, undergarments, maroon knit stockings, leather shoes.
