14"l. (36 cm). Wooden frame cart with metal handle and three metal spoked wheels has original black metal paint with red stencil stripes, fancy spindled hand bar, and is labeled "Nord" on the front wooden panel. The cart, an identical miniature version to those used by porters on French railroads, contains three wooden packing crates with brass studded leather straps, dove-tailed construction, and labeled "Nouveautes". The toy was presented in the Etrennes holiday catalog of Au Bon Marche in 1887 and was offered with empty crates, or filled with 50 small toys. Excellent condition. French, circa 1887.
