55" x 53" x 23". A handmade very large wooden dollhouse has two stories below an angled attic roof with dormer window at the center front, and two side windows. The house of a simple architectural design has eight large windows, two chimneys, an arched front door with panels, and a working door bell that connects to a silver bell in the kitchen. There is a center hallway with a three- angled staircase to the second floor, and four large rooms with connecting doorways. Contained in the house are nine pieces of German dollhouse furnishings, larger scale, in the style known as Biedermeier. There is a key that unlocks the front door and two hinged front panels. According to family lore, the house is known as the Parker house, in deference to a previous owner or its maker. The house stands on four shapely short legs. American, late 19th century.
