18" (48 cm). Pressed bisque socket head with very full cheeks and delicately tinted bisque, brown glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the lips, two rows of painted teeth, pierced ears, lambswool wig over cork pate, all-wooden fully-articulated body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, wearing peach silk dress with lace trim, wonderful lace-edged straw bonnet, undergarments, stockings, white kidskin shoes signed B. Condition: faint old hairline from right eye to crown rim, tiny pinflake on upper right eye rim. Marks: 3 (head). Comments: Leon Casmir Bru, circa 1880, the model was made for five years only and was considered very deluxe. Value Points: rare wooden body and rare facial model with unusual expression enhanced by rich sculpting around the nose, painted double row of teeth.
