SFBJ, the dolls were
modeled by the famed French illustrator,
Francisque Poulbot,
and represented war orphans of the Montmartre
district of Paris,
circa 1914. The dolls, named Nenette and Rintintin
by the artist,
were produced by SFBJ, and offered in several
Paris department
store catalogs for one or two years only as special
feature items.
Value Points: quite rare to find these as a pair, the
uniquely
sculpted dolls with fine quality bisque and painting
are wearing
their factory original costumes, and are contained
in original box
with illustrations of the dolls with their names.
