Description
21" x 20" (53 x 51 cm). In the center of an arrangement is a red velvet tufted cushion surrounded by ten mirrors, six of them rectangular representing the years of the engagements. There are a number of other symbols including various leaves and flowers, and two doves with wreaths of harmony. The bride's coronet rests upon the velvet cushion, and other personal mementoes are included. These are the bride's aumoniere with braids and silk ribbons, and an ivory silk sash with tassels and embroidery. The arrangement rests upon an ebony-wooden base with (mis-fit) glass dome. French, circa 1890.
