Description
15" (38 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with upturned lip corners in slight smile, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original muslin stitch-jointed body, kid arms. The doll is marked "D". He wears his excellent original bridegroom costume of black wool cashmere with silk lapels, silk vest, shirt, tie, shoes, watch and fob, and black silk top hat. The doll, in superb condition, was likely a special commission to commemorate a wedding of its era for the quality of the costume suggests professional tailor-made construction.
