Description

7" (18 cm) dolls. 12" x 7" (31 x 18 cm) trunk. Presented in a faux-leather covered domed trunk with brown leatherette straps are two small bisque-head dolls costumed as bride and groom, each with glass eyes, open mouth, teeth, painted features, blonde mohair wig, five piece composition body, and marked 878. Still attached, unplayed with, to the inside lid are a number of antique lingerie pieces for the bride, a lift-out card beneath the tray contains linens, and beside the dolls, two niches contain an assortment of petite accessories including bracelet, cologne, soap, puff, brush and so forth. The presentation set is in pristine unplayed with condition, and the bride and groom costumes are well-detailed and perfectly preserved. For the French market, circa 1900.
