Description
15" x 8" (38 x 21 cm). An elegant vitrine with gilded metal frame, clear glass sides, domed glass top and etched glass floor and back contains a simple gilded arrangement incorporating a myriad of symbolic objects: nine daisies, eight lime leaves signifying faithfulness, two rectangular mirrors with beveled edge. A red velvet tufted cushion with gilded frame sits in the center displaying a fabulous wedding coronet with matching small bouquet and brooch, and two smaller matching pieces as hair ornaments. The coronet features rows of small pearls, glass beads, wax orange blossoms and little glass crystals. Circa 1890.
