Description

24" (61 cm). The bride has a bisque head with slender modeling of a young woman, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, open mouth with four teeth, pierced ears and a beautifully painted complexion, brows, lashes and lips. She has blonde mohair wig in upswept manner enclosed under her original beautiful coronet of tiny silk flowers and leaves. The body is the rare model designed and signed by Edmund Daspres, successor to the Steiner firm in the early 1900's; it has a well- defined lady's shape with tiny waist and generous bosom and derriere designed to wear the new fashion styles of the era. The bride is wearing her original couturier ivory silk satin gown with gore-shaped skirt, superbly cut jacket with insets and lace, original lace-edged muslin undergarments, stockings, white kidskin shoes, and earrings. Her original bridal bouquet or corsage is attached to the jacket of her gown. She owns her factory original chemise embroidered "La Patricienne",the tradename of the Daspres doll. The doll is in superb original condition, marked S&H 1159 11 and "La Patricienne" on her head, and E.D.B. Paris on her body. Edmund Daspres, Steiner succ., circa 1905.
