Description
20" x 14" ( 51 x 36 cm). A basket-shaped form is covered in rich moss-green velvet with scalloped rim and back and curved handle, and centers a rose silk tufted cushion. The velvet is decorated with appliqued painted metallic flowers in the Art Nouveau style. Hand-pressed bisque bluettes, roses and bellflowers decorate the handle along with large silk flowers and rose silk bow, and the bride's coronet and bouquet are resting upon the cushion along with an unusual gesso-sculpted image under glass dome. The entire arrangement rests upon an ebony-finished wooden base with blown glass dome. French, circa 1910.
