Description
22" x 15" (56 x 38 cm). A porcelain de Paris vase with cutwork detail at the sides, claw feet, and gilded detailing contains a splendid bouquet of silk garden flowers in a beautiful array of varieties and colors that aptly depict the bounty of a French garden of the late 19th century. The flowers are realistically detailed with delicately tinged colors, botantical accuracy, and are perfectly preserved. They are the bouquet of flowers carried by the bridesmaid and then presented to the bride to be placed in her parlor as a memory of the blissful occasion. The flowers are perfectly preserved, presented upon their original walnut oval base under a glass dome. French, circa 1890.
